Stopping to take a picture on another sunny and warm Southern California day. Little did I know that previously that fence line was a weed choked mess and that it was now littered with thorns.
When I resumed riding I discovered a thorny problem, both my tires looked like this all the way around. There were so many thorns embedded that I felt like I was on studded tires. Except I then remembered this was my first ride running tubeless.
So I simply brushed out the worst of the thorns with my hand and continued riding. The sealant did it's job and there was little appreciable pressure loss. At the end of the ride there were still 5 embedded thorns in this front tire section alone.
Straggler in the rear, post ride.
Some more post ride embedded stragglers. With my pocket knife I picked 9 of these out of the front tire and 11 from the rear. Most were clearly long enough to penetrate well through these thin tires. I simply reset my pressure for the next days ride and thought no more of it for the duration of my visit.
