We stopped along PCH at Pismo Beach. Unfortunately the weather was not favorable...
Post processed using Joe's negative green preset...
These must be extremely expensive houses... they were in a private little community right next to the beach...
This was our power hike through San Luis Obispo Bay... we wanted to get to this "cave" but was also in a rush to make it to Hearst Castle...
The mini cave! We hiked probably just over a mile one way in about 15 mins.
Otherside of the cave... not very exciting.
We made it to Hearst Castle on time!
This time we went on Tour 2 which was mostly in doors, architecture and kitchen...
Neptune Pool at Hearst Castle... couldn't resist taking a few more photos of it.
One of my favorite shots of the main building.
Interesting art work on the ceiling
One of many guest rooms at Hearst Castle
I'm a sucker for spiral stairways... especially when the lighting is so interesting
Long hallway ... there were basically no window and was just open air.
Library at Hearst Castle
Hearst's personal room... very small
Marion Davies' room
Heart's office in Gothic style.
He always wanted arches :)
One of the most beautiful rooms in Hearst Castle, this was effectively in the tower of the castle.
Heast Memorial state beach, right across from Hearst Castle
The pier at the beach...
Couldn't resist the shadows...
I don't know why I was so drawn to this shot... but some reason I really like it.
We pulled off on PCH to the sea elephant area for a quick photo break :)
Coming back on shore after his swim?
It was still foggy the rest of the drive... this reminds me of my last trip up PCH :)
Finally some clear skies along PCH.
Rocky Creek Bridge
I climbed up this random hill on the side of the road... it was so close to the cliff I almost couldn't get down... perhaps that was not the smartest thing I did that day :)
Another one of my favorites... nice green scenery along Pacific Coast Highway
We made it to Carmel by the Sea for dinner, went to Casanova (http://www.casanovarestaurant.com/). A nice little French restaurant
Asparagus as antipasti
Gnocchi con Spinaci, homemade spinach gnocchi au gratin. This was the first time I've had gnocchi so it's hard to compare but I certainly enjoyed it :)
Champignons Farcis, mushroom caps stuffed with a sweet herb-garlic butter. Very tasty but a bit on the heavy side (well, what did you expect with the butter...)
Filet Mignon, served with whipped potatoes, tarragon demi glace and spring vegetables.
Linguine alla Scapesce, linguini with lobster, shrimp, and shellfish simmered in white wine cream sauce. This was VERY yummy... oh so good :)
