April 6th - Our first trip out there this year. Sam & her husband went out there with us. The road was bad earlier, but I knew mom was on eggs and they run close to the eagle by the fish hatchery for timing. Mom came in with what I believe is a squirrel.
Both stayed on the nest for a while and did a feeding.
Then dad took a break from babysitting...
...and landed in an old tree across the pasture from the nest.
YES! We have at least one little one!!!!!
Saw a woolly bear caterpillar in the road going back to the truck.
May 1st - Two fox kits were playing way up the hill on the edge of the road.
I'm guessing there are two sort of to the right of mom or dad. I think all of them including mom or dad were doing face plants. Ha!
It looks like between the Y in the branches I can see a head up and maybe one flat down to the right of that. I really couldn't tell for sure.
May 12th - Yep, definitely TWO!
I liked the way the younger one was looking up at the older one. Never saw mom or dad today while there.
May 21st - Definitely have more feathers. The one on the left just wouldn't cooperate and get up.
But he did stretch a wing for me. Caught me off guard, so much for focus.
June 5th - what a difference from last visit!! At first they were flat down and couldn't see them and then they woke up. What a wing that came up!
AND take a look over to the right of the nest!! One flew over and landed out there.
And then the second one joined it!!!!
And the second one flew back....
...and flew back again!
Another trip back to the nest. The first one is still over to the right.
After landing again it went up on a branch by the nest (working its way up there).
Made it! First one is still over in the branches on the right. What a great visit!
