Pressure regulator "plugged" with *clean* old rear brake line for overnight. Doubled end over with *light* hammer blows til flat. Should've taped tiny hole in fluid res. cover. Lost fluid made for a slippery flare nut wrench. Though unrelated to the job at hand, please note the INCORRECT positioning of long steel coolant pipes.
View from rear looking forward. You can see the 90* bend in mid RH side. Follow if left and toward you. You can see line is above coolant pipes and shift linkage. This is what "hung me up".
Looking up near steering rack (shown on R) Clamps off pipes. Pipes lower enough to sneak line over. Conveniently, there is a slot in frame that allows brake line to fit up/over pipes etc.
Looking toward rear of van. If you look closely, you can follow line down and through at ~ middle of image. It is sagging to right of P-side subframe rail above gas tank. Clips hold it to this subframe. There are more clips forward of tank in various spots.
Line out! In rear area, lowered heater hose + other bits out of way. Line got stuck in hole on P-side rail above tank. Pulled a *bit* to get line through frame holes above tank. Rotated line as needed. Could fit hand in rear frame hole to help line along. Was able to reach in front of tank while helping it out rear frame hole.
Front portion. Used #14 solid wire to shape front portion test piece to test if new pre bent line would fit. Rear shorter piece should be easy. Used #14 wire to measure orig. brake line. (~ 112.75")
Lower is mine. 92" piece. Was coiled, uncoiled as I went. Will couple to 2nd rear piece. Large socket or ABS pipe in vice to shape bends. Mounted orig. in WorkMate. Small bends/tweaking by hand. Process not totally foreign to me. Have repaired lots of trumpets/trombones. YMMV. Bent bit by bit. Details: angles, straight, compare accurately.
Taped ends. (dirt/other mayhem)
Through! Got hung up on cross member, but getting it through not too hard to do. I could reach under/across tank to guide front end with other hand on rear end. Will make rear bends when connected to regulator.
New line in RH of image, to go up/over shift linkage rod and coolant pipes to connect with regulator. (lower LH of middle)
Looking up. Coolant pipes loose, fit new brake line fit through channel over pipes. See why it's taped? ;)
New brake line over stuff. Need to make sure it stays higher than shift linkage. (don't want linkage to rub new brake line) Hopefully new brake line clips may do this.
