Located 17 miles west of the evil proposed Tejon Ranch condor-killing mountain-paving project, Pine Mountain Club is a cheap country club development that opened 40 years ago within the Los Padres National Forest along the San Andreas Fault just over the L.A. county line at 5000 feet and just below Mt. Pinos. Teri and I went to the annual Lilac festival, named after the non-native lilac bushes which are planted all over the place, and which were supposed to be all stinky (in a good way) in bloom. Due to recent cold spells, there were no flowers to be smelt, but lots of crafts to be bought at the fair's booths. Yes, we did our part for the local economy. Just for voyeuristic fun, we checked out the local supply of homes priced between $105,000 and $125,000.
most of the canyon below the waterfall looked like an avalanche.
