Tessa scouts out her crossing strategy
After a successful river crossing, happy dogs catch up
They took out the bridges for some reason. There's no way we would be able to cross them now. I couldn't tell if this was man-made or due to a major washout/flood event.
Tikko found a freeze dried dead frog to sample. Yum!
Snowy staircase down to the twinway trail
Happy Tikko and Tessa wait for me on the way up Twinway trail
Parts of the trail were steep and icy, the dogs were smart and bushwacked around of their own volition.
Bounding up Twinway after navigating the ice
Tikko enjoys the view from South Twin
Looking toward the Pemigawasset Wilderness bowl
Posing. The cut above his eye was from his moose chasing escapade yesterday when he sprinted down a hemlock thick mountain.
To prove I was there. Near the summit of North Twin
Looking out over the valley.
If you look closely, you can see Galehead hut down in the saddle of the nearest mountain. Galehead Mountain is the little bump behind the hut.
On the trail back toward South Twin.
Scouting out an icy downhill...
... and making it with ease
Heading up the trail
A nice big stick this time!
Sniffing for hare
This stuff is too thick for me!
One ear wave on the top of South Twin
Check out those sunbeams!
Cool sunlight on South Twin
Waiting to go back down Twinway
On the way down
Summit of Galehead
Heading down Galehead. South Twin in the background.
Enjoying the view from the lookout
Sniffing for food scraps
Brief pause on the way back
