Brest Architecture card Sovetskaya street: main pedestrian zone......This street was laid out in the mid-19th century. In the 1970s it was closed for car traffic.
It was totally reconstructed in 2008-2009 (local authorities prepear Brest for its 1000 anniversary in 2019). Street is now dedicated to the history of the city: a little clock tower, panorama of the old city, two pavilions with yellow copulas appeared after reconstruction - there are two figures on them: a warrior and a trumpet player. Also several lamps at the beginning of the street were replaced with oil lamps (about 20-30 lamps). And every evening a lamplighter lights them.
