WE'RE UNDER CONSTRUCTION!!
Turning the old Mechanic's Shop into a Science Lab
Pressure washing everything before remodeling begins
The old training center was turned over to County Fire. They provided inmate labor to help out with initial clean-up efforts
Moving the CSI storage container into place
Operator Engineer training shares our property. It often comes in handy!
The old office is the new student center and snack shop. It was built elevated with lots of big windows so that the mechanic instructor could easily keep an eye on inmate trainees.
Tearing out old drywall to install new plumbing for lab sinks
Repairing existing wallboard prior to texture and new paint
My Sgt. and I clearing the parking lot of stored building materials
An old bathroom had been covered up and was being used for storage. Soon to be the new women's restroom.
Rough plumbing is still in the walls. Just needs to be turned around.
The men's room had no privacy as it was used by inmate workers. We're going to clean it up and add stall walls for student use.
The old Admin building is also being torn down and rebuilt. To save money we salvaged the Admin toilets for the CSI Training Center!
Old steel tables from county surplus supplies were free and look great with some wheels and a new coat of paint. The beginnings of our lab.
New blinds dress up the office and will close it off from the lab when class is in session
Early morning light makes the front of the new training center look pretty nice.
Operator Engineers used their big forklift to move the trajectory reconstruction vehicles to the new site.
The EVOC Auto Shop sign will soon be replaced with a CSI Training Center sign.
From the back side it still looks like a mechanics shop. But the inside will be a classroom and science lab. With walls we can open up on nice days!
Training supplies are piled into a corner until construction is complete
Masking office windows before painting
Stairs that once followed the wall are turned to accommodate more cabinets and workspace
An early morning visitor I walked in on!
He was not happy when I caught him. But ok when I released him in the nearby wash
Got a weekender crew to help with some of the labor. Young, strong, and talented, they really helped me out
Women's restroom is coming along. Just needs some floor paint and privacy stalls.
Men's room gets a face lift with new cabinets and counters
Starting to look like a classroom.
Bringing in the tables and chairs from the old classroom
It might be an actual learning center
New cabinetry in the classroom.
Newly painted hallway and bathroom floors
Knowledgeable, professional instructors
