This morning I had the opportunity to take my new baby (Canon 5D Mark III) to The Living Planet Aquarium as part of a Photowalking Utah event. What a great time we all had, and especially me for a number of reasons, including being one of 4 names drawn to go behind the scenes and get some very up close and personal photos with various animals. Those photos to come later. This was a great environment to put the Mark III to the test. Very low light and movement made for very challenging photo making. I quickly learned (as reminded by +Nate Isaksen) that the best animals to shoot are the slow moving ones! This is a quick first example of a Lion Fish (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lionfish) shot at ISO 1600, f/2.8 1/320 with the 100mm macro. Right up against the glass and trying to avoid glare from various lights and tanks in the background. The detail in this camera, even at higher ISO is awesome. Click to a larger view for some detail goodness. I'm seriously in love. Many more photos to come when I can cull out the bad ones and find the good ones.
