Suzi at 7 weeks, just came home
Nothing is cuter than a chocolate lab in the yard!
Patiently waiting for release...
Let us know she loves sun bathing
And back then, trying the local foliage
Christmas in adolescence :-)
Her spot to wait at our favorite campsite
Suzi is a water dog! Loves it without fear or hesitation
There's something great about seeing a lab in their element
Picture taken 4-3-11; she is 6 weeks pregnant and showing it.
Again, 6 weeks pregnant. You can see she inherited her sire's blocky head.
She is a bit uncomfortable sitting these days and was waiting for me to be finished with all the posing
Flash lightens her here, but gives a good glimpse of her sweet face.
The day before labor began, 4-21-11
She started showing signs of restlessness, then panting, then trying to create a nest for her pups.
The first 2 males were out within 15 minutes of one another
And eager to start eating
From midnight to 3 am, the numbers kept increasing
Suzi is a good mama!
Wow, 9 of them. The Vet thought 7. What a nice surprise!
Count the puppies...
Suzimama and babes
The routine of feeding is well established
They are like sweet chocolate kisses!
Time to sleep...
Beautiful Suzi Q
Grubbing for food! Their instincts to find this and scrap for it are amazing
Sometimes someone has to take the high ground!
The girls, taken 4/29/11. 1 wk old today
Check out Suzi keeping watch (in lower left corner)
The boys on blue, taken 4/29/11
All this feeding is tiring
This is the largest male. We're calling him Tank for now :-)
The nest overflowth!. One can't even see the nest now!
Sepia tone of pup playing Yoda
Pack o' pups
One of their final nights in the nest. Now they sleep spread out everywhere
Sitting up like a real dog
Suzi's adapted & they triple stack to get food
First eating of mush
They knew exactly what to do with it
Enjoy the sounds
2nd time with mush; week 3 begins
