The Chicago chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) awarded the building a Design Excellence Honor Award in Interior Architecture at the AIA’s 54th Annual DesignNight 2009 in Chicago.
The 117,000 square-foot building is home to 10 academic departments and programs.
From the south, the building is accessible by an elevated walkway overlooking the greenhouse and plaza.
The rooftop observation deck affords views of downtown Beloit, the Rock River, and the universe.
In late 2010, the building earned the Environmental Excellence Award from the Associated General Contractors of Wisconsin.
