Here's my shopping list for my Del Monte with Cinnamon and Brown Sugar Recipe shop. This list was actually used for two shops, so I'm going to split it up.
Sunrise at Walmart. I ran out Monday morning bright and early to get everything I needed without having to bring the kids. My six year old was happy he didn't have to go shopping with me.
It was Halloween morning and my first stop was to find some tan stretch pants to wear under my pirate costume. This was the best I could do. They only had black, grey and jeggings for leggings.
Dog food aisle. It's almost impossible to find gluten free for a dog at Walmart. :(
There was a run on milk! I couldn't believe how empty the milk section was.
My two year old begs me for Gatorade. Not sure why. I always go for Powerade since it's cheaper.
I needed sour cream for my fruit salad. There was no more Great Value Regular Sour cream so I went with Daisy.
I plan to also make a peach cobbler with the Del Monte Peaches so I picked up some Splenda to make it. (Man this "sugar" is expensive!)
For a Halloween treat I was making scary apple mouths and I needed slivered almonds. I was also using the pieces of the apples not needed for the mouths in the fruit salad recipe.
There they are.
Coconut is also needed for the fruit salad. I went with the Great Value brand.
Marshmallows galore! I needed mini marshmallows for the recipe.
Canned fruit! I needed crushed pineapple for the recipe. I went with Great Value again.
Maraschino Cherries. They always seem to hide these guys. All the way on the top shelf. Hard for the shorter customers, like me.
Found them! The new Del Monte Diced Peaches with Cinnamon and Brown Sugar. I cleaned them out by buying the last two on the shelf.
The packaging makes them look good. Couldn't wait to get them home and try them.
I needed more Clean and Clear since my husband started using it, too. I get the daily pore scrub because I love the little scrubbers in it. Makes me feel like I'm really getting my face clean
I got red delicious apples for both the mouths and fruit salad. They had other apples on sale for .88 a pound, but they were all starting to get that wrinkled, old look. Yuck.
A view of my cart before checkout.
I thought I was ready to check out and then my eye got caught by my husband's new favorite oatmeal. We get the OatFit which is 100 calories and you get 5 servings in that box for $1. Can't beat that!
I also remembered that my daughter wants to dip pretzels so I ran back to the snack aisle to get pretzel rods.
As I was walking back past the medicines I decided to pick up some regular aspirin. For some reason I only had low dose at home and I feel weird taking so many pills at once to get the desired strength I want.
Check out complete. My biggest complaint about shopping before 8am is there is never any registers open. I end up having to self check out every time and I buy a lot of food each trip.
$101.87 spent on groceries and items for my two Collective Bias shops.
Yummy Diced Peachees in Cinnamon and Brown Sugar. I liked them just as they are, but they were also great in the fruit salad.
Cut up apples and toss in lemon lime soda to reduce browning
Drain and add maraschino cherries
Drain and add pineapple and peaches. Mix together.
Add coconut, mini marshmallows and sour cream. Refrigerate from two hours - overnight.
Enjoy your yummy Hawaiian Fruit Salad!
