CUHWC Dunmail Raise, October 2012
(Except the first two, which are from Edale weekend.) The first breath of winter gave us a trip of two halves. Saturday was brilliantly cold and clear, with fabulous views. It was a day to be up high, so we headed for Helvellyn - not once but three times: first from Dollywaggon and Nethermost Pikes, second via Swirral Edge, Catstycam, Birkhouse Moor and Striding Edge, and third after a lazy wander to White Side and back. Persistent rain on Sunday did not encourage photography, but a relatively pleasant round of Helm Crag, Gibson Knott, Calf Crag and Steel Fell was had by some!
