~THOUGHT FOR THE DAY~ We are all inhabitants of one world. We fill this earth with curiosity, hope, love, and adventure. No matter where we travel, or who we meet, we are connected by this planet that we share and the knowledge that we exchange. “Experience is a hard teacher, she gives the test first and the lesson afterward....”

The West Lake
This photo was taken on a crisp winter afternoon at the West Lake in Hangzhou. Many of these sorts of bridges line the lake and make for a perfect walk overlooking a beautiful scene. The West Lake is a famous tourist destination and has been for centuries thanks to its natural beauty and the numerous poets who wrote about it.

I arrived at the Chateau after miles of biking around Lake Geneva only to discover I had arrived just in time for closing. By some stroke of luck, it was the monthly “Night of the Living Theater” event and I was allowed in to experience historic castle life complete with actors, old style clothing, and a huge fire pit with roasting bratwurst. I reveled in walking around imagining things as they once were and was fascinated by the incredible views of the surrounding gorgeous Alps and lake. Though there were probably more houses in my scene in comparison to past residents, the landscape was still breathtaking and made me wish that I could stay indefinitely as a part of the living theater.

Japanese Wedding Procession
This was taken at a Shinto shrine. Originally expecting to see one of the most famous shrines in all of Japan, we got more than we bargained for. In this picture you see the wedding procession parting the crowd of people paying homage to the newlyweds.

“We will be your Tibetan Grandmothers,” Our guide translated the women's words. They wanted to adopt us. These Grandmothers were on pilgrimage, walking across Tibet to Lhasa. Their children had all grown and they promised to cook for us everyday. After one taste of Tibetan food we were all ready to say yes!

Machu Picchu at Sunrise
As the fog lifted on a crisp morning at Machu Picchu the true majesty of this world wonder was revealed. The city was a maze of wonder beyond anything we had ever witnessed, each turn piquing new curiosity within each visitor. The stunning architectural precision bears no rival and was only matched by the lush green colors ranging from emerald to deep forest green.

A Katutura Corner
Our first time in Katutura while in Namibia. The busy city of Katutura consists of shantis, barber shops, and car washes. It is one of the most colorful places I have ever seen with the streets filled with people. Some people looking like they are walking with a purpose and others looking like they are lost in time.
