The Lutheran Church was established by German immigrants who moved into the area and established vineyards and wineries. Only a few vines that have gone back to nature survive of the old stock.

Wilma Brown, one of Corene Laminack's daughter. She always brings lots of food. Corene died suddenly a few months ago but Wilma and her husband Jerry still supported the singing.

It was on this courthouse corner that I first heard Sacred Harp music in 1960 on the Fourth of July. I should have started learning it then.
A wagon house used by farmers who came to town in the horse drawn wagons and who needed a place to stay over night in the late 1800s. This was behind the J A Owens general store which burned about 20 years ago and is located next to the railroad in Heflin, Alabama. Now this area is part of Webb Concrete in Heflin.
