This aerial photo provides a nice depiction of where the 40 acres is located in relation to the White River to the north and the several thousand acres of uninterupted forested wildlife in the general area. If you zoom in on this map you can see the small strip of open cropland which is mostly hidden from the view of the road and is naturally a great location for deer and other wildlife to converge to.
The forty for sale is the northern (upper) 40 acres listed under Michael J Kinney (81) which borders the property owned by the Altmann and Custer families. With so much land under limited ownership the adjacent hunting pressure is very light at best. The tan area is enrolled in a DNR managed forest program that offers open access for hunting and other non-motorized recreation.
The darker red area is the general location of the pines and intermittent creek area of the property. The purple colors represent mostly the upland hardwoods part of the property. The open fields are on the bottom (south) side of this map.
