Deb and Kelly coming up the first road
More Knapp Trail
Nice views from Knapp
Deb ahead, climbing, climbing
Snowing on Pajarito, where we're headed
Up on Pipeline now
Canada Bonita Trail
Absolutely beautiful in here...
This is part of the Jemez 50 route.
Deb up ahead on Canada Bonita
Almost at Pajarito ski slopes
Where we have to go up to 10,440 feet!
Looking down towards Los Alamos
Seen on Camp May Road up to the slope
Kelly and Deb coming up behind me on the ski slope
Looking out into the Valle Grande
(out near our house)
Sitting on top waiting for Kelly and Deb, so took some shots.
I believe that's Caballo (Jemez 50 and 50K go over that) and Chimayo in the far distance.
Another shot looking into the Valle Caldera and the Jemez Mountains
Kelly reaches the top and happy to have!
Deb climbs the last few steps right behind Kelly
We're now at 10,440 feet...
We went up "One more time" (2nd from the right) and "Rim Run" to the top and it was a killer climb. Took me about 23 minutes, Kelly and Deb about 10 minutes longer.
About to plunge down the other side, but this sign stopped us ;-)
The other side goes into the Valle Caldera, a closed area....but we went anyway.
We hopped the fence and are now heading down into the Canon De Valle
Looking south from the top, about to plunge over the edge
Deb's first to take the plunge, we're heading for the base of that hill, Cerro Grande, in front of us.
Somehow I got ahead and here's Deb coming down behind me, Kelly is not far behind us.
The trail is right there in front of the Aspens, we go left. The Jemez 50 route comes in from the right and joins this trail
Trail barely visible
Kelly comes down the hill a little further up the trail from us.
Regrouped, on we go...
Some nice log portals that Jason, Beist and Tom made for the Jemez 50.
Canon De Valle trail
A recent fire
We'll have many more of these if we don't get some rain (raining outside the house as I write this)
The ladies up ahead, just re-crossed the fence we hopped over up on top of Pajarito.
We're now down the bottom of the trail and crossing Rt 4 on over onto LANL land.
We're now off of the Jemez 50 route.
Ladies behind me now (I smell the barn)
The trail with some LANL buildings alongside
Perfect form, just like the sign says!
Almost done, one more trail down to the skating rink
We're done! 20 rugged miles in 6:04!
