Start of the Blue dot trail in White Rock...
The snow capped Sangre De Christos in Santa Fe in the background
Gibbs ran down ahead to greet some hikers
The Rio Grande, about 1000' below
Getting closer to the Rio...that's all Indian land on the other side
Deb taking in the beauty
Gibbs getting hot already. It was around 60 degrees down in the canyon
Mesas and mountains
Closer shot of the Sangres...we'll be training there once the snow melts
Rio Grande, we're much closer now
Typical trail down here
Deb and Gibbs running down behind me
Deb had to take a picture of me and Gibbs
Cholla cactus lined the trail
A little gnarly....
Under a tree tunnel along the Rio Grande
Deb wanted an action shot, so she took the camera.
Yes, that's a Hardrock shirt ;-)
Got sandy along the river in spots
Deb, Gibbs and cholla...
...have to be careful of your arm swing when you run by these.
Got rocky at times, too!
A perfect running day in New Mexico!
Got quite warm down here...if I were still in NH, I'd be freezing right now!
Jemez Mountains, where we live, in the background.
We're about 30 miles from this trail
Some of these are painting shots for Deb
Petroglyphs were seen in some areas....art from an ancient tribe.
Cholla was everywhere...in a couple of months rattlesnakes, lizards, scorpions and tarantulas will be everywhere, too!
(We don't train down here in the summer)
Field of several varieties of cactus...
Deb called it a barefooters nightmare.
This place is awesome
Waterfall and swimming hole by the trail
Things are actually beginning to bud out here! Feb 13th!
Gibbs likes it, but won't step much further because it drops quite a ways.
Going back up the other end of the canyon wall now
Next several shots are panning left to right
Top of the trail...
Gibbs is hot and found him some snow!
Looking West towards the Jemez
Looking East towards the Sangres...
Heading back down
Deb took a nasty fall around here, banging her knee and cutting up her hands, but the shoulder survived!
This is much steeper than it looks...
Washing of the blood...Gibbs drinking the bloody water.
I don't know, it looks like an Aloe to me
Painting shot with moon above
Got some good running in on the return trip, running it 10 minutes faster.
We'll be back for a double out and back next week!
