This is from the day before when I was near the East Fork Trail. Someone has a sense of humor.
That was a lot of work .
In the Jaramillo valley.. it was sunny and hot already, and the horse flies were swarming and biting, so I didn't take many photos.
trying to get a clear shot. The butterflies were amazing.
This one's a little clearer..
I'm climbing a little and it's getting cooler. That is Redondito, the little hump next to Redondo.
Just some of the typical road/trail in this area.
very green in here.
You can never capture the grand views on a camera, but I'm high enough to overlook quite a bit of the Caldera here.
more nice trail
and more.. scared up some elk around here somewhere, but didn't have camera out.
Redondito, which is around 10,500 I think.
looking north east
This side of Redondito is a huge scree field.
Looking down on the Jaramillo Valley where I started. I'm making a big loop
starting to cloud up and get cool.
more scree field.
cant remember why I took this shot
many, many wildflowers through here.. a few of them at the bottom of this shot..l
still heading up and hugging the shoulder of Redondito. We can't go the summit.
I top out at around 10K
clouds.. do I hear thunder?
a very lush, green section
This fella popped up out of the woods and started coming my direction.. I was able to convince him otherwise..
