Frame #J7004 indicates September 1970 manufacture. All original except for pedals and consummables. (I sold the original Campagnolo "pista con dente" pedals to a collector for $400.) Weighs in at just shy of 26 lbs.
Rather nicely tapered Prugnat head lugs.
Campagnolo Gran Turismo derailleur, 14 - 31 Regina Oro cluster, and Sedis chain. Campy record hubs are dated 1970.
36, 49, and 54 tooth chainrings on Campagnolo Nuovo Record cranks. Pedals are not original.
Weinmann 27x1 1/4 rims and chromed Union spokes. Rims are drilled for schraeder valves, but I installed Presta valve tubes.
Schwinn-labeled Weinmann brakes. Pads are modern Mathauser.
Brooks Professional saddle from 1973 and Campagnolo seatpost. Photo also shows thrashed condition of paint, though the chrome is still quite good.
Seat cluster and bottom bracket not as nicely filed as head lugs.
Position of Gran Turismo on 31 tooth rear and 49 tooth front (middle chainring). Sloppy shifting!
Note old "Arnold Schwinn & Co." on decal.
Paramount rigged for RAGBRAI 2012
