Different plywood deck setup. Widest piece is less than 41" so entire deck can disassemble and lay flat on bottom of bed.
Eye level with deck. 2x6 crossbeams set into notches in the bed.
Behold the dorkiness. PV mounted to shell.
Front view of panel. Need to figure out how to route the wiring.
Overall layout. Controller in front right corner of shell.
HQRP 10a charge controller topping off the batt. Since the wires are the same color I wrapped a strip of duct tape near the end of each positive lead. In this pic the load wires are not yet installed.
Plywood deck, then tarp, then camping mats for comfort. Old sheet goes on top (not shown here).
7.5" clearance between deck supports and bed.
Looking down onto closed back gate. Deck fits flush with closed tailgate.
So here's the basic idea: padded sleeping deck, 12v power w/load tester (fan!), grabber pole on left rail, storage underneath. Ready to camp!
Groceries on the sleeping platform. This is the greatest grocery conveyance I have ever experienced.
