PS 126 was canceled Monday because of damage from Hurricane Sandy.
Most of the water in 126 had been removed by Monday morning.
But the schoolyard was still messy.
And the park adjacent to PS 126 was covered in litter.
Parents tried to drop their kids at a nearby daycare but found it closed indefinitely.
Further uptown, at Bard, workers hauled contaminated furniture to a trash compactor.
Bard appeared to still need lots of work, the building was roped off.
It looked like much of the cafeteria was going into the trash.
Gymnasium mats were also hauled to the curb.
Water removal pipes trailed out of the back of the school.
A nearby car still had seawater inside.
