Martha G. Gandy (1897-1993) is Margaret’s great-great aunt and was a licensed practical nurse in Dallas.
Truby Gandy Metcalf (1911-2002) was Margaret’s great aunt and received her R.N. from Methodist Central in Dallas in 1934. She worked in public health and in doctor’s offices in Dallas for many years.
Dortha Stevens Daubitz (born in 1925) is Margaret’s mother’s cousin. In 1947, she received her R.N. from Methodist Central in Dallas through the auspices of the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps, a free government program during World War II.
Earline Chapman Flannery (born in 1937) is Margaret’s mother’s second cousin and was in the second graduating class from El Centro College in 1969. She worked as an R.N. for 22 years at a local hospital and as a hospice nurse for five years.
Margaret Eckert is the great-great-great nieces of Martha Rutledge and a patient care facilitator in the telemetry unit at Texas Health Plano. She earned her R.N. in 1999 from Texas Women’s University and has been a part of Texas Health Resources for eight years. She is currently pursuing her clinical nurse leader (CNL) certification from Texas Christian University.
