AT Trail going up to campsite. And the foreboding dark clouds.
You can just see the AT white blaze and from left to right... Tony, Laurie, Julie, Mitch
From our campground, to the AT shelter and water source.
Babies! And lots of them running around this weekend.
And some size perspective on the small ponies. Thanks Tony. :) And I think the one on the left was trying to eat his water bottle.
Still on the trail to the shelter. This was just so much fun to see.
Part of the Bald where we set up camp.
So hard to capture the beautiful mountains in the distance.
Trail from the rocks down to where we camped.
View from the top. You can see the trails and barely make out our camp amongst the trees.
Tony, also taking in the scenery.
Lisa and Katie cooking dinner.
Pater and Laurie with a successfully hydrated dinner packet. Yum.
Debra, Mitch, Julie, I think Anne's kids, etc....
And lots of people, lots of smoke. The wood was all wet, and it was windy! Oh, and the guy on the right who is trying to get out of the shot... some guy we picked up. He, his buddy and another guy all joined the group.
Trying to get a better view, but everyone was spread out.
Again, horses and trail.
The horse that was licking my trekking poles!
Close to the top of Mt. Rogers and the start of Sunday.
Very enchanted forest up there.
At the top!
Virginia. Highest Peak. Check!
Stopping for lunch.
Cool and windy, but no rain yet. We were a couple miles into our 9 mile loop.
So here you get to see not only the lovely horse, but the misty rainy day that we had from about 2pm to 6pm Sunday.
