Gator Syphon Cave. Suicide cave dive.
Gator Syphon. Santa Fe splits here and partially dives under ground into the swallow hole to re-join itself a couple miles downstream in Gator Spring. Water whirlpool actually makes rambling noise here. As I have heard the first and only in history traverse of this section was done by the team of Lamar Hires (who owns Dive Rite). The hole is sure scary, I have seen 6 ft logs getting disappeared into it. Sometimes an island formed of debris is spinning on a top of the syphon.
