Centenary in Paris - Day Two
Students in Professor Dana Kress' course, "Paris Noir: Black America in the City of Light" visit Pere Lachaise cemetery, Place de la Republique (Republic Square), and a local restaurant during their second day of Centenary in Paris classwork. In the process, they discussed the fascinating connections forged between the United States and France by 19th century African-American and Creole writers, and got (unexpected) first-hand insight into the experience of an immigrant in modern-day France. This is Centenary in Paris at its best!
