Just off the SC301 near Campo Alegre.
Same place in the other direction.
This is at a rest stop - view point on the SC301 between Campo Alegre and the BR101. The road winds down through the mountains and into the valley.
My Bike at the rest stop "Dona Francisca".
Not sure if it was OK to drive my bike down there but I think it made for a great picture.
The end of the road in Balneário Barra do Sul.
Balneário Barra do Sul, SC, Brazil
A couple of waterfalls way out in Corupa
Morro dos mannos or something like that. A dirt road off the SC474 between Massaranduba and the BR101. It just goes up to the top of a banana plantation.
Das Bier cervejaria in Gaspar. They make beer and I drink beer :)
Fishing ponds at the Das Bier brewery in Gaspar.
The Kasulke chicken farm on the SC474 between Blumenau and Massaranduba
Reacanto Alemão a German restaurant just off the SC474 between Blumenau and Massaranduba
The road(???) up to "Morro das Antenas" in Jaragua do Sul. Somehow the hill was steeper and the rocks bigger then the picture shows.
I made it! My dual sport bike at the top of the Morro das Antenas. The bike really impressed me when it haulled my fat ass up to the top.
I stopped on the way down but there were so many mosquitoes I did not wait for the camera to focus. This was not the worst spot of road. I could not stop to get pictures of the hard parts as I was too busy trying not to fall off.
Massaranduba from the top of a dirt road between Jaragua do Sul and Massaranduba. Yes I have to get my motorcycle in every picture.
I only have one motorcycle so it needs to be my street bike and my dirt bike. This is really pushing the dirt bike limits.
Little waterfall in the background. This is the SC 416 from Schroeder to Campo Alegre. One of my favorite rides.
Lots of these little shrines around. Almost as many as there are buteko's (bar's). This is at the top of the mountain on the SC 416 from Schroeder to Campo Alegre.
This is why I like the SC 416 road so much. Good dirt road winding over the hills and great scenery.
SC 416 near Campo Alegre.
The moment of truth. Do I really want to go through that mud just to see where this road goes and hope it is not a dead end. This is off the SC 301 between Campo Alegre and the BR 101.
Another dirt road off the SC 301 between Campo Alegre and the BR 101.
Right off the BR 101 just north of Joinville.
The beach at Guaratuba.
They have a small "Cristo" on a hill in Guaratuba. This is looking at the beach from the hill.
You can see the "Cristo" statue on top of the hill accross the bay.
Rio Quiriri just off the SC 301 near the BR 101. Not as bad as it looks. Just happy I did not try this when the river was up.
The waterfall looked much better then this picture shows. You can still see how it has a couple of bends in it. This is the road to Quiriri.
Yes this is the road. Going through a banana plantation in Quiriri.
Pomerode Motorcycle festival June 13, 2010. Last year this parking lot was full of motorcycles. :(
I just got the 6000 Km. service on my bike and they cleaned and polished it so it looked better then new. I was going to try to stay off dirt roads for a few rides to keep it clean. But when there are so many dirt roads with such beautiful scenery that idea did not even last through the first ride. Somewhere off the SC 413.
Rice on the flat land and bananas on the hills. Lots of farms. Some dirt road off the SC 413.
Just such a great place to explore. Beautiful scenery and lots of back roads.
My bike always gets attention from kids. They are surrounding it at a gas station. Always ask how fast it will go and can they drive it.
View from another hill with a mini - Cristo. This one is in Barra Velha.
On the beach at Itapoa SC.
Itapoa looking over at Sao Francisco do Sul.
The SC 415 between Itapoa and Garuva. The cow must have thought it was feeding time.
I just love the sound of two cylinder two strokes. Unfortunatly this was the only one there.
It starts like this.....
The road goes straight through the jungle.
Great day for a ride. Itapoa beach, Santa Catarina.
Little place we stopped for lunch. Next to the new shipping port in Itapoa.
Right after I took this picture a nice Brazilian came over and started talking to me. With my very limited Portuguese I picked up he was telling me the ocean was going to cover everything here. I was thinking.....global warming??? He kept talking and told me many people would die and he and a select group would be taken to a beautiful place in the sky prior to the earth being wiped clean. This was going to happen in 2012 or 2013 at the latest. I wanted to say I will see you here in 2014 but kept it to myself.
