This is one side of the entry gate to a very remarkable resort. It's at the very southern tip of Hainan Dao, and even missus and I could afford to buy a vacation (or post-apocalypse) condo here. There are also mansions and villas that would please Mr Buffet and Mr. Gates.
Here's a map of the entire nature reserve. It will contain several golf courses, and some five-star hotels. The model in the next picture is that grey area to the right, near the beach.

Chen-chen started making friends with me. He's the youngest of our host's children.
Cashews grow wild here. You have to roast them before you peel them. Otherwise you'll get the skin melted right off your hands.
Some feral pups and their momma had holed up in a tangled pile of I-beams inside the compound where our host and his workers stay.
Cashews again. We discovered that the "apple," the structure that produces the nut, is "edible". Further study revealed that is was only used as a foodstuff in Cuba, and parts of Africa. (The parts you should avoid.) One taste convinced all of us that it wasn't "edible" enough. It is very high in vitamin-C if you're concerned about scurvey
