Took this at about 4 miles outside the park enterence.

Even with the car (about 20 feet in front of the tree), it doesn't quite display the scope of how big these sequoias are.
I think I walked past the General Grant a few times, without realizing it.
That sequoia in the middle, is the General Grant. It's close to 300 ft tall, and only the General Sherman is taller.
Some of the trees show fire damage in the trunk, but it appearently doesn't affect them, and helps clear underbrush.
