Sticking to our credo, the twohubs Cento Uno is built to bring out the Classical European and contemporary Californian sentiments as in our Cento Uno SL build. With the same geometry as the Cento Uno SL. Given the combination of the 60 ton and 46 ton carbon lay up which comprises the Cento Uno, making it a frame fit for racing, yet supple enough to complete a century in comfort. In tandem with the twohubs custom build kit which includes the DT SWISS RR 1450 TRICON wheel set. This gives you the option to run tubless tires. The Carbon Edge handlebar, Rotor S3X Stem, and the new 136 gram Rotor SD1 saddle really lighten up the set up. Finally finishing the build with the SRAM RED group, the complete bike weights in at 14 lbs 6 oz (size medium). This is another one of our great complete bikes at twohubs.com
We feel that saving your drive train from early ware is very important, especially when your bike has higher end components which are costly to replace. That is why we chose the KMC X-SL gold chain treated with titanium nitride. The hollow pin is riveted according to KMC's new ‘FLAT STEP’ process, sealing the outerplate with an impressive 350 kilo’s of pinpower, making it the strongest chain connection in the industry today.Titanium-Nitride 'Gold' treatment available for an even smoother glide across the drivetrain and prolonged chain life, and drastically lowering the ware on the chain rings and cassette, as well as making the ride much smoother and less noisy
We decided to go with the DT SWISS TRICON RR 1450 Wheelset for a couple of reasons; weighing in at 1450g for the set, these wheels use 18 / 24 spokes front/rear. The rims are 20mm wide and of course can be run with Tubeless tires. Aesthetically, these wheels really complement the traditional White, red, and black colors of the Cento Uno
We are putting a traditional 53/39 front chain ring combination on the twohubs Cento Uno, however, we would be happy to substitute in a compact crank set. Another nice upgrade would be to install the ROTOR Q RINGS. Please check out the Rotor products @ www.twohubs.com
Coming back to our wheel selection for this build, the DT SWISS TRICON RR1450 wheels have a unique spoke matrix, with insertion both at the rim and the hub are worth noting: Using straight pull spokes, and a unique “boat” spoke mount which is held in place in the rim by the spoke tension. The two-Piece bonded hubs, which separate the hub body from the spoke flange, yet again setting a new standard in hub design.
Yes we know! Edge components had to change their name to Enve, however they are the same components. We liked the name Edge better then Enve, so we bought all the Edge handlebars we could get our hands on. We feel these bars are light and stiff enough to ber worthy of a twohubs build kit!
Ask why we did not choose a matching Edge stem to go with the handlebars? Well We feel that given the price to stiffness to weight ratios, a light enough Carbon Stem that would be stiff at the same time would be uber expensive.
We found the Rotor Stem to be stiff enough for a sprinter, light enough for the climber, as well as a great looking stem.
Ahhh... a beautiful side angle view at this masterpiece, if we may say so ourselves.
