View from our room
And to the left
And while I finished up some work I watched the sunset
Ready to board
The Na pali coast has amazing grottos
That's a beach!
I like how geometric this looks
And we've landed...
After the helicopter, we swung by the nearby beach
Waves were bigger than they appear
Footsteps in the sand
Oh look there's our hotel... on the other side of this bay
The sand here was much better than at the St. Regis Princeville, and it surprised us how empty the beach was. Maybe it was because it was 4:00 in the afternoon?
Another sunset photo from the room that Nick took while Jerry was at the spa.
Before we started our hike to Hanakapiai Falls, we came across this cool looking cave at the base of the trail.
There were a lot of chickens roaming about the island. Nick was happy when the chicken decided to cross the road.
The "hike" started off at a 45 degree angle
Going up was fine, coming down 5 hours later when our knees and legs were tired was not so fun...
Oh, we came from down there?
The beach near Hanakapiai Falls. It's secluded, and the only way to get there (besides by boat) is this hike.
It's like oregon trail: don't ford the river!
We made it!!!
300 feet tall--it's hard to show that in a photo.
The swimmable lake at the base of the falls was why we came here.
Unfortunately, the water was freezing cold, but these brave souls made it out to the falls.
This was supposed to show how dirty our shoes got after hiking up here. When we got home, we immediately ordered new shoes.
