Horse Creek - October 13, 2012
We paddled against the current for 4 miles up the Peace River, and then 6 miles up Horse Creek, before turning around for the return trip.
Beautiful wild flowers. Clusters of purple and yellow asters - silver dollar-sized flowers totally covering bushes the size of a garage door, climbing up the banks of the creek. Button bushes, with their strange "sputnik-looking" flower ball, with spiky projections. White vine milkweeds, with snowball-sized clusters of star-shaped white flowers, giving off a perfume so intense, you might think someone spilled a bottle of perfume in your kayak.
