It took a lot of jello.
Yes, a buffet scene that would be fitting for my 1974 cookbook The New Joy of Jello.
We started off with jello shots, to get the crowd warmed up. This was everyones favorite - Bomb Pop - with raspberry liquer, curacao, lemon jello.
Melon Ball was kinda medicinal.
Rebel Yell was strong - jack daniels and peach jello. More! More! More!
Just an absolute horror - the turkey souffle. It didnt mold properly. It did nothing right.
Green Goddess Salad. There are anchovies and mayo in those jello squares. I actually kinda liked this one.
Easy Fruit Tarts - they were a hit.
Even more horrifying than the turkey to me was this Salmon Dill Mousse. Dave thought it would be good on a sandwich. I think it would only be good if you were a member of the Donner Party and had no other recourse except eating your campmates.
At least it molded properly in the fish mold.
Jellied Gazpacho. Kinda good, if you can stop thinking about it being jello.
Crown Jewel Cake. Complicated to make, but tasty. I should have doubled it to achieve a higher cake.
I like coordinating my outfit to the jello. Here's the Frosted Mandarin Dessert - another hit.
And now a montage of Kat being grossed out by the Turkey Souffle.
She'd rather be eating frog ovaries.
Dave tried to avoid eating by holding Wiley.
Guests write their comments on the jellos comment cards.
Yes, I did try all the jellos.
Edgar gave the Salmon Dill Mousse 5 stars.
Edgar the Wonder Dog takes a treat from Dave's mouth.
Food coma sets in.
After making jello all night Saturday and getting up at 7am to finish, I was pooped.
