Sueyoshi Shrine against the sky
Sueyoshi Shrine upclose
The Sueyoshi Shrine from down below
The Sueyoshi Shrine from a distance
Frontal view of the Sueyoshi Shrine
Side view: The Shrine is composed of two buildings. I'm positive of the purpose of each one. Or why there is two. The inscription offered an explanation but only left more questions to the origin of this site.
Close-up of the second building
Along the path: Old Tatami mats were placed to protect the old path and to make it easier to walk.
The Sueyoshi Shrine stone marker. You will see this along the path. This lets you know that you are about to enter the Path to the Sueyoshi Shrine
Pathway to the Sueyoshi Shrine
Stone inscription both in English and Japanese
Interesting structure. Part of it names the company responsible either for the restoration of the structure or its up-keep. This was according to a translator, but because of limited view of the entire object, it is not 100% clear.
Office or Storage building before the Shrine. The Shrine was being repainted at the time. There were supplies used for renovation around this building
Prayer sites. You will find many, many prayer sites around the Shrine.
One of the many interesting trees near the shrine
One of many interesting rock formations near the site
Another interesting tree formation near the site
You will also find many 'Burial' sites or 'Hakas'...near the Shrine. This one stood out because of the crucifix attached to it.
