Gerry's Crab Shack
Yep, this looks like the happy crabshack.
Silly crab, actually.
Olivia INSISTS that we all have to wear this new headgear.
Yeah, right! Y'all look ridiculous.
Michelle, Carol, Kim - savoring the apps.
Does this hat make me look fat?
Cheer up. We're all in this together. (Right, like that helps.)
OK - now that I'm getting warm, I think the hat is cool.
So we do look silly. No matter - there is strength in numbers. Down to the boats to get some crab.
What are you looking at! Something funny here?
MIchael scores some crab! (Hey, what's the deal with those hats?!)
Before the crab - Carol and Michelle dig into the totally amazing appetizers. Cheeses from every country and every animal that yields milk. Also deep fried maitai mushrooms, chinese pork belly - all the usual fare that I grew up on - NOT!
Back at the Crabshack. Carol doing some crabwork.
Self portrait. Olivia's big steamer pot warming up for the crab 'bath'.
Kim, Michael, Andy and Olivia trying to relax while the crab cooks.
Olivia's multi-level steamer - four crabs at a time.
First batch of the crabs out of the steamer.
Michelle - the happy hammerer.
First batch of crab ready.
Michell and Carol working on the 2nd batch.
Andy looks quite fetching in his new hat. What's Carol's problem?
Andy and Oliva still patiently waiting.
Michael, Andy, Olivia - can we PLEASE start eating!
Yes! Now we're ready to eat. Hats at the ready.
It really tastes best with the right headgear. Olivia was right.
Michelle, Carol, Kim - focused!
Halfway through the meal. Looks like Gerry is fading.
But Michael and Andy are just hitting their stride. Olivia - not so much.
Fuzzy but happy.
Now begins the Jonestown part of the tradition. All lie down.
First display of underwear. Part of the traditon. Andy - how many days have you been wearing these?
Turns out Andy has the smoothest feet! Now we know but still don't know why.
Kim - Michael, you look silly with your hat askew. Let me fix that.
Crabheads planning their invasion of our neighbor's art show.
Sedate crabheads, Olivia, Andy
Cheer up, crabheads. And head for O's house - follow Michelle.
When crabs first walked on the land. Evolution illustrated by Andy.
Heading to O's house for dessert. The skillet is a nice touch, Carol. (It is a dangerous neighborhood.)
And on to an elegant Chinese tea service at Olivia's. (But still looking silly.)
Olivia serving oolong and saffron tea. Winding down. A very fun day.
