"Have you guys seen my green boots?"
Matt had a brutal start to the day when he realized that his left boot was missing an important bolt.
This was the first time that any of us had been to Steamboat, and we were treated to a warm welcome thanks to nearly a foot of their trademarked "champagne powder." We definitely got a very good first impression.
"You're my boy, Blue!" Blue is definitely the new pink.
We stuck to the trees where the visibility was best.

With conditions like this, it's hard not to smile.
Just a few minutes before the lifts stopped, the clouds lifted just enough to give us a glimpse of the surrounding peaks and valleys.
A stop at the boot fitters was needed to get Matt's broken boot put back together. This awesome, vintage snow cat was parked in front of the Ski Haus. It was even equipped with a Thule rack.
After a great first day at Steamboat, 18" of fresh powder made our second day even better.
Even the aspens were frosted with snow.

Face shots were on the menu for all of us on this particular day.
It was a complete whiteout for most of the day as the snow continued to fall from the sky. I managed to grab this shot from the chair when the clouds lifted briefly.
