Jason and Nina posing at the trailhead for the Winsor Trail
Poor snow conditions and unusually warm weather setup a great day to head to the Santa Fe Baldy.
All the snowshoe traffic had packed down the trail, so we were able to run many sections.
nice lines near Raven's Ridge
our first glimpse of our destination

an insanely large igloo near Puerto Nambe
A timber supported room made for tons of room inside.
Nina waiting to pounce on a rabbit as it comes out of its snow hole
great view of the Santa Fe Baldy
We got hammered by the wind once we broke above tree line.

Jason and Nina peering down into the abyss
Jason and Nina mustered the energy for a sprint to the summit. I chose to crawl.
We had to hold on to each other so that the wind wouldn't blow us off the summit.
I made Jason snap one of his trademark self portraits.
not much snow on the Jemez Mountains, sadly
cool view of the Truchas Peaks and the Pecos Baldy
Sarah and Jason quickly descending the ridge
awesome backdrop for some trail running
"Get out of my way, Nina!"
We made it back to the trailhead in 4:30, which was fast for us but was 45 minutes slower than usual for Jason. He's a bit faster than us. Ok, a lot faster.
