We got our first taste of the Enchanted Tower over the weekend with a great group of friends.
great camping directly below the tower
Dario and his kids, Nick and Danny, even joined in on the fun.
Dario's tent was made in 1887 and happens to be his newest piece of camping gear.
Jason and Hagen getting down to business on the tower.
Most of the climbs on the tower itself are quite difficult. Sarah and I both tried "Grendel," the easiest one of the lot. Neither of us managed to get it clean, but it was still a ton of fun. A slightly technical start with a long, pumpy push to the anchors.
A huge ledge offered a much needed break before continuing on to steeper ground.
Sarah preparing for the final move to the anchors
By Monday morning, Sarah and I were too tired to climb, so we took the opportunity to photograph Jason and Allison.

Sarah easily won the race to the top.
For his last climb of the weekend, Jason got on "David," and extremely aesthetic line up the tower's arete.
It was super fun just watching Jason work this route.
The moon made a guest appearance.
On our way back out to the highway, we stopped at the Davenport Lookout to take in the views. The Enchanted Tower has quickly become one of our favorite places to climb. We'll definitely be back for more!
