Tel Aviv A New Home for Refugee Children
Jerusalem, March 24 - Immigrant children at Bialik-Rogozin, the Israeli school featured in the Oscar award-winning documentary Strangers No More, say that Israel gave them a new life. The school is located in southern Tel Aviv only a short distance from the location where a military-grade rocket fired from Gaza recently fell in the southern suburbs of that city. The students are children of migrant workers, political refugees, immigrants and others from low socio-economic backgrounds. The youth hail from 49 different countries and are mostly Christian, Muslim and Jewish. Many of them start school for the very first time while in Israel.
