uh oh, my shoe ripped 8 miles in, and my foot keeps popping out. Have to get duct tape to hold it together.
about 8 miles northeast of Camp Roosevelt on the ridge.
I'm still feeling OK here, it wasn't for another 7 hours until my demise.
I ran in the morning w/Paul and Zsuzsanna.
we stopped to let these horses and riders pass up as we were going down this part of the trail.
doesn't look as steep as it is, but it was hard to believe these horses climbed up there.
Just documenting the shoe disaster at 25M in, Roosevelt. Later (4 more hours), Bobby Gill duct taped them shut at Crisman Hollow.
Kerry and I coming through Crisman Hollow AS
Bobby Gill took care of my shoe problem. Thanks dude!
My first DNF at 48.7 miles and 13 hours in. This shows the clcokwise miles I completed (until the watch battery died 12 hours in). I'll have to go back next September to finish the 'RING' of the Massanutten Mountains.
