A long weekend spent celebrating not only my birthday, but J & L's as well!
Winnipeg Fringe Festival...trust us to find the circus freaks!
An old friend of J's...who is incredibly talented!
I feel the need. The need...for speed....
The Cathedral of Saint Boniface, who helped to settle the Winnipeg area and convert many of the natives.
It burned down many years ago (three times, actually) but they've retained the facade and rebuilt the church inside the original footprint...which is why you can see sky through what used to be a stained glass window.
Where there are old churches, there are old cemeteries. And old cemeteries have creepy monuments...like this one with a faceless mourner weeping.
One of the spots K got his nerve up to pop the question....she said yes! (And no, not while we were there...we were getting the L&K tour of Winnipeg.)
Does every pedestrian bridge across a river look like this?! Strikingly similar to the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge in Omaha.
L's a college professor...we paid a visit to her first year physical geography class.
