M. Ellen Carpenter Financial Literacy Students sat in on a mock bankruptcy hearing at the U.S. Bankruptcy Court from Judge Joan Feeney.
"Sally Spender" is in big trouble after defaulting on her car payments. Thankfully, the students learned what steps to take to not end up like Sally.
Janet Bostwick (Janet Bostwick P.C) led a discussion after the mock hearing. "What could Sally have done differently?"
Judge Feeney also joined in on the conversation and gave the students some insight on some of the cases she has heard.
"How many of you like to argue, negotiate, and stick up for others?" Janet asked. "Now... how many of you have thought of being a lawyer?"
Students had a chance to approach the bench and see the courtroom from a judge's perspective.
