101812 SCC trip to SE Arizona
Scottsdale Community College geology class, Special Topics in Geology, a four-day field trip to see various geologic features in southeastern Arizona. Eight students and two professors. We hiked about 12 miles all together in about 8 stops. We covered Basin and Range, Mid-Tertiary Orogeny, debris flows, earth fissures, Kartchner Caverns, active faulting, river terraces, basin formation and volcanic landforms in the Superstition Mountains. We were fortunate to have guest speakers Bob Casavant from State Parks, Ann Youberg and Joe Cook from Arizona Geological Survey. The trip was a huge success thanks to the people that made it so. Thank you all!
