A view of the north bound carriageway...looking south To be thrown open to traffic by Feb end '10.
Raju. Are you sure we are going uppppppp......in that????
The "that" - attached to the earlier mentioned gantry crane - its perched on the north-bound carriageway. Capacity 6 pax. The cage is open on all four sides, with a railing till about 3 feet. The door on this cage opens inwards - a damn good safety feature - especially when you are leaning against the door suspended, anything above 1 meter above terra firma.
Raju heading for the cage attached to the gantry crane.
Now u can see the comparison in scale
Sid Joglekar is the first one into the cage
The rest follow...tentatively.
In the pix L to R: Rahul Vanjari, Rajeshwari Pandit, Abhi Ganu, Rashmi Joglekar
Rashmi takes a pix of her beloved kids...before they get hoisted up.
In the cage: Harshitta, Sid, Abhi, Swastik, Raju (all in red hard hats). Gent in the white hard hat is one of the project enggs.
Every one has to wear a colour coded hard hat. Red is for rif-raff guests. White is for top honchos.
Didi wondering....“have i made a mistake???”
The kids being hoisted. Obviously you cannot see them. This is a silhouette
