Beginning of the Cougar Ridge Trail
First creek crossing, this is usually the only place there is water on this loop, not counting the small pond on the Engelmann Oak Loop
Second creek crossing, always dry
Looking up the first hill
The hills are alive with the sound of music
Third creek crossing, always dry, no today
Looking down the trail
Another creek and water on the trail
Escondido, our house is on the hill midway up the photo and on the right
Mt. Baldy way to the north
On the Engelman Oak Loop, this is the water coming from the dam above
The small stock pond is not small
Same spot as previous photo
Here is the road that I usually hike on and the pond. You can see the dam at the far side of the pond.
Same pic a bit farther away.
Looking up the road with more water flowing down
Palomar Mountain and Valley Center
Looking back up the Engelman Oak Loop
More water flowing on the trail
This was a spring that had sprung up right beside the trail. The water was bubbling up out of this hole and was crystal clear. Wylie drank some but not me.
One of my favorite sections on the Engelman Oak Loop
Same as before but looking the other way
The ocean was out there in the distance
