Pacas family sugar mill. The stuff that loader's scooping from that big pile into that truck? Yeah, that's sugar!
It's a little DL, but the Pacas family has been working on a rum made from the sugar from their plantations. They hosted us for a simple tasting exercise, putting their rum up against a few other commercial brands. Theirs was the most interesting on the table, hands down! Hopefully we'll be able to bring some back from our next visit. :)
