First views driving in from Idaho after spending beginning of week at City of Rocks.
Go Cougars! - This was on a Lexus in a handicap spot at the Tetons Jenny Lake Visitor Center
Packing at the Climber's Ranch.
First views from before (I believe) The Platforms and Meadows areas.
Loving the Steripen! That and the Nuun tablets are what kept the metal hip well lubed - NO SQUEAKING the whole trip!
Views from the Meadows. Lower saddle is up to the right in this picture. It's going to start raining on us going thru the Moraine.
Rain broke to give us an amazing sunset.
Couldn't pic one favorite, so you get them all...
Peak shadows at sunset.
Lower Saddle camp.
Home sweet home - starting to dry out.
Summit day. Glad we are up here for more than one reason!
Wall Street - we roped up here for the "jump" (Yeah, right!) around the boulder. Stayed roped to simulclimb the rest of the route.
More peak shadows.
Dan gave me the lead for the Friction Pitch. Pretty sure this is the top of that pitch.
Above the Friction Pitch. Dan is off looking for the "V" Pitch.
Dan lead the "V" Pitch.
Had the whole Upper Exum and the summit all to ourselves.
Looking up at the second rap...where I left my sunglasses. Dan solo'd up the Owen-Spalding pitches to the top (again - just for fun) and downclimbed Sergeant's Gully to finally reach the top of this rap to retrieve my sunglasses.
Found the "Eye of the Needle" on the way down.
Back at Lower Saddle camp. Clear skies for the whole summit day.
Camp for second night at the Caves. Plan was to climb Irene's Arete on Day 2.
We ended up deciding to skip Irene's the second day and hike out early in search of bacon and other real food. Dan is hungry here...
Later that afternoon. Good call on getting out early! Irene's will be there next time...
Views over the Snake River
It was a long trip. We mostly got along. ;-)
Lander night life.
Wedding reception music at the Lander City Park.
Last night of camping - Free camping at Lander City Park. Sprinklers came on at 1:00 am...Luckily we'd put the fly on and had not camped on a sprinkler head.
Hope to be back soon.
