Ron at Everglades City ranger station launch area
We're off !
Ron in his newly acquired CD Solstice
Short cut or more likely scenic route
Camp Lulu lagoon
We didn't stay here because can't get to at low-tide
Ron - we'll have to work on his surfers hand signal.
Historic house on Camp Lulu
Somebody actually live here once...
Beach area where we decided to camp
Safely arriving at Camp Lulu
Ron relaxing in the shade. It was
Dave fishing at camp.
The "What not to wear" people were alerted
Ron in bug suit top
Dave in bug suit - what a sight!
Nice sunset signaling the all clear for
the no-see-ums to come out in full force
Dave bug suit and towel
From in the safety of my tent
No no-see-ums but also no air - it was hot!
The no-see-ums were so thick, you could see them!
Dave caught a snook next morning.
He let it go - but not until it flopped around
and caught his fingers in the hooks. Ouch.
We decided one night was enough with the heat and bugs
so we depart a day earlier than planned.
Ron paddling past a marker
We can see our destination finally.
The paddle back was extremely hot and against the tide.
We made it. Side note: Ron got stuck in the mud
as we were trying to pick up his kayak and fell in.
He was a muddy mess. The mud claimed one of his
sandals but he went back and got it back!!
