Skinning up the Bull of the Woods trail early on. The winds were non-existent down in the trees but above treeline it would be a totally different story.
A short break to take care of some business before getting above treeline.
Just to break out of the trees.
We found the snow above treeline to be very inconsistent--wind blown and icy in some spots, drifted soft in other spots. That coupled with the blowing snow made it very hard to route find.
Finally, the fruits of our labor! Josh cranks some nice turns in hard-to-read snow.
We found some better snow and turns in the trees below the Bull of the Woods trail/road at about 11,000'
While it was challenging, it was super cool to spend some time in conditions like that.
