Bill and I, along with his dogs Cuba and Nova, headed up to the Latir Peaks Wilderness to climb Venado Peak, 12,734'. We departed the Cabresto Lake TH on our splitboards.
Cabresto Lake was frozen over making for direct skinning
We were breaking trail along the Bull Creek Trail
A very svelt Cuba
My recollection does not serve me well but I don't think this was our destination
We setup camp around treeline. If it weren't for these photos, I would not have remembered this, sadly.
We were treated to a nice sunset, apparently
We're having fun now
Definitely a two-dog night
Venado Peak (I'm pretty sure) in the morning.
We skinned up as high as we could but encountered steep windpacked snow and ended up hiking
Nova getting extreme on the cornice
Looking northwest at Virsylvia Peak
Now for the spoils...some pretty hard windpacked turns
